Dr. Gina Bowlin is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and licensed clinical alcohol and drug counselor (LCADC) specializing in behavioral health therapy. She completed her Master of Social Work at University of Kentucky and her Doctorate in Educational Leadership at University of the Cumberlands. She brings many years of experience in higher education and therapy into her practice. She specializes in treatment of adults in the areas of addiction assessment and treatment, death and dying, grief and loss, traumatic grief, crisis intervention, anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD and LGBTQ+ issues. She practices with an integrated approach of several therapy modalities, some of which include motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, cognitive processing therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, person-centered therapy, and strengths-based therapy. “I am committed to destigmatizing addiction and mental health treatment and have great compassion for those suffering with stigma and lack of forward progress. Advocacy for the LGBTQ+ community in southeastern Kentucky is also an important part of my practice. My goal is always to support patients as they improve the quality of their lives and achieve their goals.”
